Latex Water-Based Paint

A Classic Pavement Marking Choice
Thanks to our fleet trucks called Stripers, we have a lot of experience using latex paint. These trucks hold the paint in large tanks. The paint is run through a series of hoses under high pressure and is applied to the roadway surface through a paint gun.
Glass beads are applied to the paint for retro-reflectivity. Latex water-based paint markings typically last 9 to 36 months, the timeframe can vary based on external factors like weather conditions, snowplows, high traffic, etc.
Latex Paint Applications and Features
Latex water-based paint is a road surface pavement marking used to mark travel lanes on roadways, smaller spaces in parking lots, loading areas, airport runways and time restricted areas. Colors for these applications can vary by location.
Latex water-based paint features include:
- Increased durability through greater film build (16 mil)
- Traffic ready in 3 minutes or less under standard conditions at 16 mils
- Flexible paint film to withstand road expansion/contraction
- Ability to hold larger beads for enhanced retro-reflectivity
